"Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine"

I was extremely excited for this cinespia showing because one, it's a classic and the outfit I had in mind was a dream! I first saw this film not long ago, it was during my Film 1 class at Santa Monica College that I fell in love with the classic. The theme for our week was Anti-Heros and how Rick was the perfect anti-hero for the film (had to do an essay on it so we ain't doing that again) sticking out his head for nobody headass when we all knew he had a big heart and and it was revealed more when Ilsa showed up. I definitely teared up when he helped the young couple with money, when the refugees began singing the French national anthem over the Germans and obviously when he let Ilsa finally go.

So I decided to go as Ilsa, and I was SOOOOO excited I could finally dress up for this film. Luckily, my beautiful friend Suzy had EXACTLY what I was looking for a vintage 1940s suit that I absolutely fell in love with it. She has many other vintage dresses that are beautiful pieces you can purchase as well! Be sure to check her out!

For hair, this time I took a 1" curling iron and pin-curled it and let it sit until it was completely cool. For the appearance of shorter hair, I tucked it into my shirt and George styled it perfectly to make it look just right. I'll be honest I want to cut my hair that short now haha
George and I had our look down, I was so happy with it and what made it even better was the reaction we got from everyone! Everyone loved our costume and we got so much praise it made me feel good. Sometimes I get nervous dressing up for these things because I get a little self-conscious but then I blow it off because I remember this makes me happy and makes me feel cool and that is all that matters!
