Skin Care Routine

I've had many people ask me what my skincare routine is soo I'm finally making a blog post about it!

With good skincare you need to find something that is right for YOUR skin type, it's crucial for you to understand that because if you use something meant for oily skin and  you have dry skin it will have negative reactions and cause breakouts and that's poopy. I have pretty normal skin, oily in some areas but tend to get dryness around my nose SOMETIMES, also depends on the season. In the winter time, I'd opt for something more moisturizing. So here's what I use for skincare. Also almost all products are cruelty FREE, I'll usually say when it's not but most of the time I will always try to find a product that is cruelty free.

ONCE A WEEK:

I steam my face once a week for about two minutes at night. I got the steam facial tip from Audrey Hepburn. it opens your pores and leaves your skin super soft. Funny enough, my mother in Guatemala did the same thing when she was younger. My mother was the one that made me take care of my skin at a young age, telling me to get anti-wrinkle cremes and facials. Her skin hasn't aged at all either.

Before anything make sure you washed your face with your regular cleanser, next you simply bring water to a boil, grab a towel, and hover your face over the steam that arises. Use the towel over your head in order to catch all the steam. I do it for two minutes, or as long as Moon River by Audrey Hepburn plays.(I kid you not I do this religiously for about 5 months now) Here you can use the Lush steam tablets in Dream Steam, infused with lavender and chamomile oils and some roses. Afterwards I pat my face dry and get my mask ON.

Step one: I apply the The Mega Greens Galaxy Pack to detox, it feels tingly at first but then it goes away and I leave it for 20 minutes.

Step 2: Once dry I  wash off the mask with warm water and then apply the Moisturizing Moon Mask, which has an awesome cooling sensation and leave on for 20 minutes as well.
Step 3 : I follow up with my regular toner and moisturizer. Also, not shown in the photo was the night time oil which I use, Aura Cacia Sweet Almond Oil which I apply every night and then go to sleep.

Daily Day and Night Skin Routine:

When I wake up in the morning first thing I do is hop in the shower. I use Lush's Angels on Bare Skin as a scrub to exfoliate my skin and I follow with my facial cleanser which I switch from Glossier's milky jelly cleanser OR YES to Cucumbers Gentle Milk Cleanser. They are both very similar so you can't really go wrong and who doesn't love a dupe! and secret shhhhh I use baking soda on my nose or blemishes that pop up on my face to exfoliate a little bit more, DO NOT DO THIS DAILY THOUGH!

Afterwards follow up with Pixi Toner and botanics facial oil. Last step before I put on makeup would be to apply the moisturizer from Trader Joes that has SPF 15 because SPF is very important especially in sunny California. 

Nightime falls and I remove my makeup with either Trader Joes Micellar Cleanser & Makeup Remover Towelettes OR the Burts Bees facial wipes both super nice on the skin and does the job on removing makeup. I then wash my face with my facial wash, tone and apply my nighttime sweet almond facial oil. And thats IT! Again these products work for my skin and if you have different skin from me then it might not work as well BUT, doesn't mean you can't give it a try! Also what you do effects your skin; stress, food, working out, etc. I always remove my makeup when I go to the gym, and no matter HOW DRUNK AND TIRED I am I take off my makeup. What you put in your body is very important as well multi-vitamins are good, junk food will break you out GUILTY PLEASURES but then you got a zit because of it.
