IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!
ah yes the beloved holiday of Halloween is coming soon, it's also my anniversary with Kevin (2 years baby!)

Anywho as many of you know I have many different costumes that I have used for Cinespia over the past 2-3 years, some were super easy to create/find and others I had to be more creative. So I'm going to help you find a costume! I'll also include couple ones because those are always cute.

So lets start with the easy ones:

  • You can always pull of risky business, mens dressy shirt shorts underneath use socks and white shoes and sunglasses, easy
  • Eleven pink dress, blue jacket, converse and ergo waffles, another easy win
  • Nancy Wheeler you can see how I recreated her look here

So these next ones can be easy with the right amount of effort but super fun and artsy
  • PennyLane now this was so much fun, one of my favorite characters in my fav movies about classic rock. The look isn't that hard but it's finding the jacket that's just right. For most of my outfits that had signature gems I used thrift stores or depot to find them, like this coat I got it off depop for super cheap and all I needed was a flow top and bell bottoms
  • Next is my best costume to date only because I was so confident it was spot on Sloane from Ferris Buellers Day off, the white leather fringe, mom shorts white boots, sure I couldn't find boots that fit but the jacket is what counted, I found it at melrose it was pretty expensive but it won me a costume contest!

Another fun one is Marty Mcfly super easy denim on denim look and all you need is puffy life preserver hahaha and the power of love, Delorean optional/

  • Cher Horowitz homegirl had style and most of the time it's just the preppy look you're going for, instead of the yellow ensemble I did the simple white version in the opening credits.

  • So If you were a Potterhead, like myself, you OBVIOUSLY need to have some Harry Potter march a scarf, vest, tie, a little something even if it didn't come straight from whimsic alley (rip) Most of the time for this you just need a school girl outfit and lap on the sweater and tie and call it costume. Or it can even work as a REBELDE costume too.

  • Have you ever seen the Graduate??? Mrs. Robinson was that bitch, problematic but mama knew what she wanted. You wanna get your scandalous side going go for her look, black dress and leopard printed jacket, glam and classic.

  • Up next another prized costume I made, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. instead of buying a costume online from either a way too adult or sexy version of Dorothy I decided to really stick to the original pinafore she wore. I use this Video to help make the pinafore dress and used images from the film to replicate the exact designs on the dress! Fabric glue never came so clutch until now, like seriously I made it all with fabric glue. I already had a white tree to wear underneath and my hair was twisted and braided with blue ribbons at the end of my hair. As for the shoes bought dancing shoes and painted them red and modpodged glitter onto them!

Now for the couples costume:

I'm a big fan of couples costume and total sucker for them as well, ever since I can remember I had so many ideas but no one to do them with until now! So before I started dating Kevin, George was my main who loved to dress up with me as well, so we went all out!

  • Moonrise Kingdom, you'll need some effort for this ensemble the dress you could thrift but I honestly made the dress myself and again fabric glues the white sleeves and collar onto the dress. Suzy also had adorable Sunday school shoes and white knee length socks. As for Sam, the adorable khaki scout, you'll need khakis and a khaki button up and combat boots to finish the look, bonus for the raccoon hat that I failed to find.

  • Casablanca had to be our best dress up in all honesty. It was perfect George had the Rick look down with the suit and coat and hat. For Ilsa I actually got a 1940s suit from a friend and a black fedora hat also from the 1940s. Everyone loved and it was truly wonderful.

Kevin has always been such a good sport for costumes basically he goes along with it haha

  • Carl and Ellie from Up, this was an absolute dream come true for me, to disneybound and do it with my love. Carl was pretty easy yellow polo, brown sweater vest , khaki shorts, and glasses. Ellie was tricky because I wanted the exact shirt she had, this was the closest I could find and overalls. Matching grape soda pins are always required.

  • Our first Halloween was 2 years ago, I suggested that we went to the party as Burt Macklin FBI and Janet Snackhole, and I'll never forget the face Kevin made when he shouted YES. I took some yellow tape and put FBI on the from of a blue jacket, Kevin wore a button up and tie and we found some aviator glasses. As for Janet Snakehole, super easy black dress, some pearls, and a head piece that makes you look dapper. All that is missing is some snack juice.

  • The last costume we had was super simple and easy to recreate! Squints and Wendy Peffercorn from The Sandlot. Plaid short sleeve shirt with a white tee underneath and shorts, baseball hat, and glasses easy for the dudes. As for Wendy, you don't have to wear lifeguard suit the entire night, I bought a red tank top and tucked it into my red shorts that I got at American apparel and got retro white sunglasses to finish it off. Bonus a wet kiss and red ribbon to go on your ponytail.

So there are my costume suggestions for you! I hope this helps some of you find what you're looking for or inspire you guys as well! Leave a comment below what you'll dress up as! This year we are going as Nacho Libre and Sister Encarnacion
