Finding your foundation shade online

Tuesday, October 16, 2018

So finding your foundation shade can be tricky sometimes, many have different undertones and oxidize after application. Luckily I’ve found some ways to match my foundation especially when they are only online
  •  So first thing you wanna do is see what your undertones are: cool, warm, neutral, Olive, pink, yellow are the most common
      • The most common way to figure out your undertones is by jewelry
      • If gold looks best on you you are warm
      • If silver looks best on you you are cool
      • And if both silver and gold looks best then you are neutral
      • You can also tell by the color of your veins
      • Blue/purple veins are cooler
      • Green veins are more olive/warm toned
      • If you have both then you're neutral
  • Now you want look at the shade range find three that look like they match you, look at the models they use half the time they photos look lighter. So take three colors that looks closest to yours
  • Most of the time shade will have descriptions with the undertones in it really pay attention to it because this is what saves me most of the time.
  • The color will always look a little bit lighter in the bottle than the swatch, but again look at the model it gives you a pretty good idea.
  • A helpful thing I like to do is go onto youtube and look at reviews for the foundation but most importantly someone with the same complexion as myself.
  • Most of the time you tubers will add in their description what shade they are in common foundation brands like MAC, LOREAL, and so forth but ew they test on animals therefore suck
All the foundations I have listed are completely cruelty free!

  • Colourpop's website has a little filter for you to make it super easy to find the right color
  • The Body Shop is a little but harder, luckily they have it in the store if you really want to make sure since it's one of the pricier ones.
  • The Ordinary's foundation was tricky but the color was on point I had to trust the color description but I got my matching shade.
